Weight Watchers "New" Plan

Advanced Low-Carber

Weight Watchers' had be updated to reflect the findings of more recent scientific studies. That's the marketing campaign. My mother follows WW and I took a peek at her new plan book. Interestingly, all fruits now have no points but the point level for all breads and grains has been increased. The goal being to eat more fruits and vegetables and get away from breads and sweets.

I've been seriously thinking of joining WW after the holidays. I'm watching people all around me dropping 2 pounds a week while I'm lucky to drop 1/2 a pound. I think I'm at my "setpoint". I just think that eating fruit and allowing myself sweets would make me hungry all the time. But still, I'm so done. Honestly, I want to be think more than I want to be healthy. Not the greatest attitude in the world, but it's how I feel.

You could try Weight Watchers but don't eat the fruit or sweets. There's no reason that someone couldn't do a version of WW that only includes nutritious foods. I know that a lot of people do that kind of diet so that they can get away with using their points to eat whatever they want but it doesn't have to be done that way.

I have joined the online WW program - and am finding I love all of their tools! The tracking helps with my portion control. I do enjoy a piece of fruit and it's helped with my leg cramps. We'll see how the weight loss goes...

Yes, leaving out the breads and sugars...but eating fruit...

Eating bread wouldn't make it low carb anyway?
I didn't know low carb means ketosis or paleo
I can eat two slices of bread a day and still be below 60 grams of carbs a day which is LC

I joined the new program last week (after years of dissing WW) - for the first time it's easy to follow WW on a low carb WOE - I limit myself to one small fruit a day - usually an apple, clemantine or some berries - no bread, no starchy veggies, no sweets, rice or grains. Lots of non-starchy vegetables. My basic paleo plan but the WW website is wonderful, with many products I use included plus you can add your own. I like the recipe-builder function. As a long time user of fitday, I think the Points Tracker is better. I need a good tool for portion control and I'm impressed with it so far; I'm just not one of those people who can limit carbs and lose weight unfortunately. I'm so glad this thread has been started; it would be nice to have some low point/low carb ideas for snacks and meals. I joined the whole program and will have my second weigh-in on Saturday. Once I'm in the swing I might switch to online only and forego the meetings; we'll see. I'll post my weight loss, if any after my weigh-in. It's exciting that WW has finally figured out that a couple of ounces of leftover steak is better than a 100 calorie snack pack. About time, right?
