This journey with Advocare is an education process for me. I have learned more about food and my own issues with cravings in the last 4 days. The 24-day challenge is not something that I'm going to have to always stay on. This challenge is jump starting my metabolism and correcting years of "bad habits". I'm sure that some people like yourself are able to figure this all out on your own. I'm a senior leader in corporate America and it is nice to see something that works that also educates me at the same time. I'm not knocking your methods. I'm sure they work for some people. In my 24 plus years of management, I've come to realize that people are not all motivated the same way. If something is working for someone, I'm going to celebrate their success. If its not working, that's ok. Find a new strategy and try again.

If there's one thing I've learned while trying to open people's eyes to the truth, its that some people require a big marketing campaign and pre-packaged food products in order to feel comfortable about weight loss. I don't understand it, and I know you don't understand it, but that's how it is. We are a world driven by marketing and trying not to think too much.

BTW, I'm eating all natural food that I buy from the grocery store. AdvoCare has other meal replacement products but I like real food so I'm incorporating that with the cleanse and metabolic supplements.

To the posters that are positively contributing to the healthy exchange of factual information about AdvoCare products so that I can make an informed decision about what I might put in my body, I say thank you. I also say, please choose to ignore what is obviously a sophomoric attack at a company (not the product). I do not know what the reason for the attack is, but I know it is unwarranted and is not contributing positively to this site whatsoever. If we continue our discussion and simply ignore the vitriolic posts, we can properly investigate my original question with professionalism. People fishing for attention on discussion boards respond only if they are given the attention they crave, and they eventually go away only with total and complete non-response.

My original post had nothing to do with the company or its practices. I don't care to discuss that here. I don't want to promote the company here. I don't want anyone else to promote the company here...that is advertising, and if it's to be done, it needs to be done properly through the right channels through Jimmy so he gets appropriately compensated. That's not what this thread is about. This thread is about me trying to decide if I, for myself, want to put something in my body. That is all. I do not need to be babysat through a lecture about a company's business policies.

The next time someone questions your Low-Carb way of life, and tries to give you "words of wisdom" against it, quote them these words from Michael Scott of NBC's "The Office": "I will swallow what you just said, digest it, and see what comes out the other end."

Hey everybody, Jimmy Moore here...you know, the guy who owns this forum and can determine if something is spam or unauthorized. My friend Brian (aka Rev.HaggisMacJedi) just has some questions about this AdvoCare company and that's cool. I've never heard of them, but if you have and want to share your experiences with the forum members, then please do so. I request that you refrain from name-calling or labeling this as spam. If anyone has an issue with it, then you can direct your concerns to me at livinlowcarbman@charter.net. THANK YOU!

Maybe the spammers (oops new members) would like to refrain from pimping a brand and instead talk about what ingredients are beneficial. So far all I see is product talk.

I doubt humans made it through a zillion years of evolution by sticking to a "brand!"

You want to see the ingredients for each item in the 24-day challenge kit, click on the link below and then select key ingredients. You can do this for every product available.
https://www.advocare.com/11111141/Store/...A&flavor=1

You can also read the bios of the Scientific & Medical board at the following link.
https://www.advocare.com/11111141/Products/SciMed/

Also, do you think athletes like Drew Brees and Colt McCoy would risk their good name and reputation on products that don't work. Drew was an unpaid user and endorser of our products for many years until he became AdvoCare's national spokesperson. Colt is an unpaid user and endorser of our products as is Christian music artist, Michael W. Smith. I could go on but check out the endorsers at the following link. They are all unpaid! If the products didn't work and they weren't scientifically designed to increase performance, I'm sure they'd be out getting paid by less than adequate products.
https://www.advocare.com/11111141/Products/Endorsers/

Aside from all this, I personally am seeing results and I feel awesome and better than I have in a long time!

BTW, the links are posted for informational purposes only. I'm not posting them to get anyone's business. I'm just sharing information.

ZZZzZzzz

Bionix does exactly the same thing in a sport I used to work in, pro motocross and supercross. They hooked the top guy and his boss, and they want you to think he wins because of the product.

Well duh! He wins because he's the fastest guy. Sheesh.

You Adovcare pimps are all talk, no substance.

Anyone can say "my life changed when I switched to brand X." You think we are that shallow? Where's the substance!?

Advocare's website is cleverly set up to direct potential buyers to see 'key' ingredients. The complete ingredients disclosure is conveniently difficult to access. Once you are a distributor, this information is easier to find.

The website is also set up to not allow people to right click and copy the ingredients, so I had to hand type these for you the old fashioned way! Here is an example of exactly what is contained in Advocare meal replacement bars:

Ingredients: Protein blend (Isolated soy protein, whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate), glycerine, corn syrup, maltitol, chocolate coating (whey protein concentrate, palm kernel oil, maltitol, cocoa powder, sugar, soy lecithin, vanillan, water, soy fiber, maltodextrin, peanut flour, coconut oil, inulin, vitamin/mineral premix (ascorbic acid, beta carotene, biotin, calcium pantothenate, tricalcium phosphate, ferric orthophosphate, folic acid, magnesium phosphate, niacine, magnesium and calcium phosphates, pyrodoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, hydrochloride, palmitate, cyanocobalamin, cholecalciferol, tocopherol acetate) guar gum, natural and artificial flavors.

Here are the actual 'key' ingredients from the low carb affincionado & more savvy consumer standpoint: GMO soy, corn syrup, maltitol (gas), palm kernel oil and coconut oil (not specified if they are non-hydrogenated), sugar, ferric orthophosphate (iron), inulin (more gas, increases growth of bad bacteria in the colon), artificial flavors etc...... Ther are 28 carbs per bar. They are simply a glorified candy bar enriched with soy and vitamins.

The Advocare meal replacement shakes which are encouraged during the 24 day challenge, contain very similar ingredients and vitamin mineral listing as posted above in the meal replacement bar, plus fructose, maltodextrin, artifical sweeteners..........24 grams carbs per shake! $39.95 for 14 shake pouches.

That isn't lowcarb or healthy in my world.

It's debatable whether or not it would be considered healthier than what the average overweight American is eating.

Rev, you asked for people who have had experience with Advocare products to share their thoughts. I found out quickly that the products are overpriced and contain cheap inferior ingredients like fructose & GMO soy. When I contacted advocare to voice my disatisfaction with these kinds of additives, I was condesended to.....how dare I question their 'experts'. I was told fructose is a healthy ingredient in their products. Perfect for muscle glycogen replacement. (it actually replaces liver glycogen)

I am certain that most here would not want to include the above ingredients in their healthy lowcarb program.

Advocare "Herbal Cleanse' is a BIG part of the 24 day challenge. The cleanse tabs contains herbal laxatives like senna plus sugars... dextrin, dextrose, maltodextrin....some additives...... polyethylene glycol, crosscaramelose sodium.........etc.

The fiber cleanse fiber drink contains fructose, maltodextrin, acesulfame potassium..........17 carbs and 6 sugars per serving.
