Under 'pork recipes' page.... The sausage quiche is one of my favorites! But to tell you the truth, I have never tried one of Linda Sue's recipes that was even close to just OK...they are all great!

Plus, keep in mind that ANYTHING can be breakfast food. Nobody says you have to have eggs...try a shrimp stir fry or something sometime. Smile

I quite often make breakfast my main meal of the day, so have steak (or some other form of beef, or lamb), eggs and liver or kidney. Of course you don't have to have eggs (although they help to mitigate the strong taste of the liver), and you probably don't want to be having liver every days because of a possible vitamin A overload, although once or twice a week should be fine for most people. (Try to make sure your vitamin D levels are ok).

And it doesn't have to be a massive steak - just cut off what you can eat, and (especially if pressed for time) cut it into smaller pieces so it should cook more quickly. I fry mine lightly in a pan in butter or coconut oil or a mixture, and it can be ready very quickly (done relatively rare). I quite often use stewing or braising steak, cut up reasonably small. Can be a bit chewy, but that's good exercise for the jaws :-) Just lately I've been eating more lamb than beef, and a couple of lamb chops or cutlets can also fry fairly quickly (I save the bones to make a broth later).


If you can get good quality traditionally-made (preferably raw/unpasteurised), cheese, grating a bit of that over any of the above (or probably any savoury food) will help to make it even more nutritious and tasty.



Cooking and shopping on low-carb can be very easy and quick (at least once you have identified the places that sell the good stuff. Real food cooked simply tastes every bit as good, if not better, than mediocre ingredients cooked elaborately.


Jimmy's mention of shrimp reminds me that squid is a fairly nutritious, fairly cheap and easy to cook addition to a frying pan.

This assumes that you believe the calculation is accurate.

I'm pretty skeptical. Carbs-fiber=net carbs seems a bit too over simplified. It reminds me of calorie calculation "guidelines and standards," a nice way to say educated guesses passed on as real numbers.

Check out my recipe site. I have an INDUCTION RECIPES link in the upper right corner of the sidebar on my pages to pull up only those recipes safe for induction. Also, you can just pull up the BREAKFAST category and I say in the narrative for each recipe if it is an Induction-friendly recipe or not. Lots of "different" ideas for breakfast there, because I'm not all that fond of eggs either. Never have been.

I'm one who likes breakfast type foods for breakfast. I have a "repertoire" of breakfasts so I have some choices. You are a little bit limited on Atkins induction because some of my go to's are on the "dairy rung" or the "nut rung", but if you're going crazy after two weeks you can start trying those other rungs out and see what happens. Here's my list:

Eggs (many styles, usually with spinach and other veggies)
whole milk yogurt and nuts (I'm not doing dairy right now, so this is out)
Homemade low carb granola (made with nuts, seeds, and flax)
Homemade protein smoothies (almond milk, coconut milk, egg yolks, a few berries or decaf instant coffee crystals for flavoring)
Muffin in a minute with cream cheese or almond butter (I make my muffins with almond flour)
Muffin in a minute "bread pudding"--soak the muffin in coconut milk and cinnamon
Hot flax cereal (2 tbsp flax meal, 2 tbsp. hemp hearts cooked in 2/3 cup water) with add ins (coconut, chopped nuts, chopped UNsweetened chocolate, small number of berries, etc.).
Protein powder or nut meal pancakes (very, very occasionally I'm in the mood for these).

I like having variety, so I can eat whatever I feel like (or have time for!) on a particular morning, although I eat eggs MOST mornings ("Nature's perfect food"--we buy local organic free-range eggs--I've even gone to visit the hens!). I just like knowing I have options if I don't feel like eating eggs that morning.

DFH, I hear what you are saying. It would be interesting if someone who is using a blood ketone meter would test and see if something with significant carbs AND fiber has an impact on their level of ketosis.

Flax meal only has 4 grams of carbs per 2 tbsp in the first place, so it won't have a huge impact to begin with. It also has 4 grams of fiber.
