My mom passed away yesterday. It has been really tough and I beliee that it will get more difficult. My husband just lost his aunt nearly a month ago. I was hoping to have mom around a little longer but I also felt that she may not have much time. This is very frustrating because if I had been able to get family and doctors give her the treatment that I wanted her to have, she would still be alive and in good health for a diabetic 84 year old woman. I am not saying that she should live forever ( although that would have been fine with me ). I am saying that better decisions would have extended and impoved the last few years of her life. Well anyway. I'm sad.

I am so sorry for you and your family, Mary. I will keep you all in my prayers. You are right. The shame of it all is that the government continues to treat diabetics as they do.

I am so greatful that I found low carb before I became diabetic. I just wish my friends that I preach it to would give it a try.

Oh Mary, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I can relate to the frustration of not being able to change others or get them to change. The best we can do is just remember the good times and avoid dwelling on what might have been. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Ditto what everyone else has said Mary. I nearly lost my Mom, who just turned 82, a couple of years ago due to the medical system and her Doctor, who was a close family friend, letting her fall through the cracks. Thank goodness my sister and I got over there in time to turn it all around. My heart aches for you. T

I am sorry I had not realized that you had lost your mother too. I also lost my aunt a month ago so I have not been paying a lot of attention to everyone like I should. My prayers are coming back to you and everyone here. You are all wonderful peeps.
