So I broke down and bought one of the new Atkins frozen meals at Wally world this weekend since they were on sale. I went for the meatloaf, I like meatloaf and its pretty hard to screw it up. It came with "grilled" veggies and a portabello mushroom sauce. Well, I've had worse. It was your typical "diet" frozen meal, just heavier on the meat than veggies. Would have been way better with some mashed cauliflower but the meatloaf barely passed the "if thats all there is" test. I've heard much better reviews about the chicken alfredo, beef merlot and roast turkey with "pan gravy". I will give those a try but I really doubt that I'll buy the meatloaf again. I don't intend to start eating frozen meals on a regular basis but if in a pinch, I guess its nice to know there is an option w/o pasta, rice or potatoes that you can grab at the store.

They look good, just too small for a large male.
Of course it might be cheap in America, but I'd imagine a similar thing in Australia going for $8.

I might move to the US just for the cheap Socialist Subsidized food industry.

Only if you want to eat carbage....real food is expensive (i.e., grass fed meat, locally raised veggies, raw milk, etc.). Too bad it isn't just the opposite with small farmers being subsidized and encouraged and carbage producers having to foot their entire "real" costs!

My Wal-Mart offers only 2 Atkins frozen meals and I liked both of them. One was a beef merlot with broccoli and the other was a chicken (don't remember which one but it was fine). Much better than the Diet-to-Go frozen meals. Certainly a viable option to cooking.

DON'T move to America. It's not the land of the free anymore, it's the land of the deceived.

I tried the Beef Merlot...6 "net" carbs 9 total carbs.

It tasted great! But, as others have said, the portion is too small. I had a supplemental salad and added some meat to it.

When in doubt....add butter!

I tried the farmhouse breakfast scramble and it was great!

I have tried them all except the chili which for some reason isn't in the stores here in Indiana.
I like the taste of all of the ones I tried except the meatloaf. They need to change the recipe on that one.
And as far as size goes, if you are in nutritional ketosis, they are the perfect size.

I tried one - can't remember which one - and wasn't impressed. The only reason I bought that one was the free coupon I got on the Atkins site. I can't say I'll be going back for more. I can do better just eating "real food" at home (and this isn't a strict rule). It still tasted like processed food to me.
