I am downloading it right now, but I thought I would spread the word that Wheat Belly is now available as an audiobook on audible.com.

Why We Get Fat by Gary Taubes has been available on audible.com for most of 2011, but they recently (last month I believe) added Good Calories, Bad Calories by Tuabes as well. GCBC is around 500 pages and if you don't have time to read it but you can listen to it on audiobook, it is only 25.5 hrs unabridged.

Jimmy, you should try to get Audible as a podcast sponsor. They sponsor a LOT of podcasts.

They must be reading it VERY slowly. It doesn't take that many hours to actually read the book. I read GCBC in a couple of nights. I'm guessing maybe 5-6 hours total reading time.

I just bought "Wheat Belly" on audiobook at Barnes and Noble!
Figure it will be good "reading" on the car CD player next week
when I'm making a trip to see family in another state!

Have a great day!

I listen to a lot of books. I have several hundred in my audio book library.

The Wheat Belly audio book is fairly well done. I'd say the reader did a 4/5. Frankly I think it would have been a solid 5/5 if Dr. Davis had done the reading. In contrast the reader of Why We Get Fat was a better reader to my ear.

The problem with this type of book on audio is that when he gets to the lists good foods and bad foods it is easy to loose track of what list he is reciting. The one-liners in the book are quite funny, but the delivery is a bit off in the audio version. Humor is always a problem to get just right, some people may find them funner that I did just because of personal taste. The recipes are missing if you get the Audible.com version. If you buy the audio book as actual media instead of a download you get a CD with the recipes.

A solid buy for people who want to listen to the book. Life changing information no matter how you digest it! I have it on my Kindle too.

I totally agree with you. The narrator did a good job but he was a bit staunch. I also enjoyed the narrator of Why We Get Fat better than this guy. I'm about half way through it right now, but I will probably finish it this week. I still want to get the book though. It's in my Amazon wish list (along with many other books I still need to read).
