Does anyone know where to purchase low carb tortilla wraps in stores rather than the Net? I live in North Jersey. Tried Trader Joes and Shoprite. Has anyone found them and WHERE?

Thanks

Super Walmart usually has LC Tortillas or LC Pita Bread with Flax Seed. In Texas, they are on the metal racks in front of the Deli Section where they sell meat/cheese. I think the brand of Pita Bread is Joseph's. The tortillas might be La Tortilla Factory. They have a website listed on the package: http://www.latortillafactory.com

phone: 800/446-1516 (located in Santa Rosa, CA)

The small/regular size tortillas are 3 net carbs. They also come in a larger size. I have the Original/whole wheat flavor and the whole wheat/garlic and herb. Both have zero sugar!!! Check out the LC Chicken Enchilada recipe on the website ... it looks yummo!

Good luck!!!

You're welcome...... enjoy! Don't expect the tortillas to taste the same as a regular tortilla, but it's a nice substitute!

Hey girl--
That web site had lots of good recipes. Gave me lots of ideas. I've gotten so I like cooked avocado (grilled whatever). I love a Central Market recipe for quesadillas we have at parties--caramelized onions (not a lot and use 1015's so no sugar needed), avocados sliced thin, either jack cheese or any of the cheeses used on enchiladas and cilantro. Grill them up until avocado is soft and cheese melted. I used to just eat them raw in salads and guacamole but cooking makes them like BUTTER.

I can find the Mission Carb Balance tortillias in most supermarkets, including Kroger and our Texas store, HEB.

I can't eat them as they still jack up my blood sugar. But my family likes them, so it's a good way to reduce the carbs for the rest of the family.

Oooh, that sounds tasty. I don't care much for tortillas these days. I wonder if there'd be some other way to serve the filling ingredients minus the tortilla. I suppose the filling might be good in an omelet.

I went out and bought the LaFactory LC tortilla. I made a Rueben wrap with corn beef, swiss, sauerkraut and mayo. It was really good! I was so surprised.

Question: How many times can I eat this during the week without it stalling my weight loss? It has only 3 net carbs, but is it "safe" to eat frequently??

I buy Toufayan at Food Lion. They're big and I usually only eat 1/2 of one. 15g carb, but 8 of it is fiber.

We like the LC tortillas from Sam's Club too ! They are the ones we usually buy - great to make mini low-carb "pizzas" with diced veggies and cheese !

That's a tough question to answer! We are all UNIQUE, and react differently to certain foods or products. You could keep them in the freezer, and just eat minimal amounts per week. If you find that these make you stall out on weight loss... kick 'em out of your kitchen!!! LOL. Many also see negative effects from shakes, bars, SF items, SF jello, caffeine, etc. It's all about figuring out what makes you tick!

Keep up the great work! Betcha can't wait til you reach Onederland! I'm cheering for you!!!!!

You are so right, Bikini...........I bought 4 cases of Instone Pudding before I realized why the scale wasn't moving. So frustrating. I still have most of it left.

I got mine from wal-mart but I bet health food stores carry them as well.

Sugarpop,

Do you like the taste of the puddings? I've almost bought them, but can't make myself spend soooo much money on such a tiny item!

I like the Mission Carb Balance tortillas. They fry up nice and crisp, so they make awesome quesadillas!

I buy the Ole Mexican brand "xtreme wellness" with added fiber. I believe they are 5 net carbs each and taste great. There is a plain, spinach flavor and tomato basil. All 3 are good. I get them at Ingles in GA.

I love the Instone chocolate pudding. I never seemed to have any problems with it. It is kind of expensive though, so I haven't bought any in awhile.

Mission Carb Balance tortillas jack up my blood sugar, too. I quit relying on labels. I do my own n=1 tests now on all low carb products.
