I live in Sacramento in Northern California. If there is anyone on this thread that lives in this area knows of a restaurant that specializes in low carb food, please let me know the name. Thanks

Cracker Barrel has a LC menu.

Make sure you avoid Omelettes at IHop .. they have pancake batter in them.

----------------

I have never been to Sacramento, but when I googled it ... I found:

Oz Korean BBQ
3343 Bradshaw Road @ Highway 50, Sacramento, CA 95827
916-362-9292
**Their website says NATURALLY LOW CARB

Kathy in Texas
LCing is no longer a temporary fix, it's my way of life!

All In N Out Burger restaurants offer their burgers "protein style" which means wrapped lettuce.

I also read here on LLVLC ... that Denny's has a Steak Salad with Blue Cheese and Tomato!

Thanks a lot about Denny's. Believe it or not many many years ago I was a waitress at one.. We have them everywhere. I'll go there. Thanks again.

You're welcome, Cody ...

One thing I do here in TX is go thru the drive-thru for breakfast at our local Tex-Mex places and order a breakfast taco minus the flour tortilla ... and sometimes, a small side of sliced Avocado too! I'm such a regular at one place, the order taker knows me by first name and loads me up on my egg concoction of eggs, sausage, bacon, and cheese (topped off with fresh salsa) for only $2.00!! I always have leftovers for later in the day ...

Your drive thru purchase sounds great. I lived in Texas for a short time many years ago, and their tex-mex food is to die for.

When I lived in California I used to really enjoy Pollo Loco - load up on the fresh salsa bar and ditch the tortillas, beans and rice (you can order the chicken a la carte). Carls Jr (Hardees here in the east) has low carb burgers that are simply wonderful; wrapped in lettuce. So does Red Robin, if you have that chain near you. They took the protein-style (as they call them) burgers off the menu but you can ask for any burger to be served lettuce-wrapped. Speaking of chains, I love Chili's fajitas - they are about the best I've had.

Marie
I often go for Chili’s fajita trio which is beef, chicken and shrimp. I ask for extra sour cream and guacamole and no rice, beans or tortillas. When it comes out on the steaming pan, I just put the whole think in front of me, dip my fork in a little sour cream, then a little guacamole, then spear a piece a protein. The flavor combinations are great.

You can make just about any restaurant low carb. The only ethnic places where I have trouble are Chinese, Japanese and Italian. However, I can sometime get a good salad or steak at an Italian restaurant.

Thank you for your great ideas. Like you said if you just think it out, you can make most food low carb.

I have been eating "protein style" In n Out burgers for 9 years and they're great! If I get tired of In n Out I get a Fatburger without the bun.
