I have a lot of respect for companies who are willing to listen to the informed and educated suggestions made by their customers to improve the quality of their products, take that honest feedback from the people who are investing into the company and give it serious consideration for future product development to make them better, and then follow through by producing a spectacular new and improved version of a desirable product. It just makes good marketing and business sense for companies to do this, but you'd be surprised how many companies all but ignore what their customers have to say thinking they know what's best. But the reality is those companies that forget who supports them are the ones who will quickly be out of business especially in this tough economy right now. But thankfully there are wise companies who have been in business for decades through all the ups and downs because they've never forgotten the most important asset in their success is their customer base. That's why I'm such a big fan of Julian Bakery.

Click here to find out more about their new and improved Smart Carb breads that are soy-free, high in quality protein, high in fiber from inulin, and contain just 1g net carb per slice!

Pretty neat that they actually listen to the customer!

I'll be interested to reorder and try the new, improved bread. I must say, I really liked both the Low Carb bread #1 and #2 that I ordered in August.

Both of the products I've tried on your recommendation, Quest Bars and Julian Bakery bread, have been top notch.

I'm planning on giving this bread a try. I just looked at their website to see if I could find a store that sold it. Turns out there's only 1 store in the whole state of Tennessee that sells it! They are 2 miles from my house! Right on the way to almost everywhere I go! How cool is that?

Thanks Lisa! I've been doing this a long time now and get pitched some pretty ridiculous products. If I work with a company, then they have to be the best. Thanks for your support!

That's so cool, Ron!

I really like this bread but I do have one problem. Too often the slices fall apart as I take them out of the package. I don't know if this is the result of the way the bread is made or the way the store I purchase the bread handles it.

Am I the only one having this problem?

I would so love to try this bread ... unfortunately, there are no stores here in my little town or San Antonio that carry it. AND the shipping tends to be a little too high for me.

I'll let you know my take on it when I pick some up. Not sure when that'll be, but hopefully soon.

I've never had any issues with it falling apart. Refrigerate it!

I understand on the shipping. Sign up for their mailing list and you get discounts. Stock up and freeze.

Higher in carbs than the Julian Bakery stuff, but more convenient and less expensive at $2.29/loaf vs. $7.99 + shipping for the Julian Bakery bread.

Thanks for the tip, Jimmy. Now, I need to make room in my little side by side freezer.

Just wondering, which breads are your favorites? And, have you tried the Manna from Heaven bread?

I keep the bread in the freezer until I'm ready to use it.

It may be an issue with the way the bread is handled at the store from which I get it. The last two loaves, the new formula, were a problem. I brought the bread home at which time it was already thawed and took out the slices to repackage in smaller amounts. As I was removing the bread, some of the slices fell apart. I've had this problem in the past with the older version as well.

Next time, I'll try ordering directly from Julien. Thanks.

Added: I left a message with customer service at Julien asking them if they have any idea why I'm having this problem. Hopefully, they have a suggestion as to what's causing the problem. If I get anything back that's useful, I'll post it here and pass it on to the store where I purchase the bread.

This looks good but I’m not sure how much I am going to buy at $8 a loaf.

Not a big fan of the Manna bread--too dense. I like both Smart Carb breads and the Purity bread best.

I was at Linda's Diet Delite today and spoke with Andrew about the problem that I had where slices of bread were falling apart. He said that he has had some complaints. He believes that it's not a problem with the bread but with the way Julien ships it to his store. Most of the loaves are stacked upright in the carton but on top of these loaves is another layer where the bread lies flat. Andrew believes that these sometimes get squashed and that is what is most likely causing slices to fall apart.

The bottom line is that if you purchase the bread from the baker, and its packaged properly, you shouldn't have a problem.

If anyone from Julien tracks this forum, please consider whether you might be able to package the bread differently when shipping to a retail outlet. Thanks.

We got your message about the bread and it seems we had shipped a couple of cases to Linda's Diet Delites and it got some what damages. We apologize that you received the bread in this condition and have since then been shipping in double corrugated boxes.

Thank You,

Julian Bakery
Thanks.
