low carb cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory

Just got back from shopping at Clarendon VA and decided to run into the Cheesecake Factory to see if they still carried their low carb cheesecake. I'm happy to report that not only did they have it, but it was so good. I'm scared to know what they consider to be "low carb", but that was certainly my treat for the next week. Does anyone know what they use for their crust?

I remember having it a loooonnnng time ago...my wife picked it up...she told me that they told her that it had 7 grams of carbs per serving....not sure if that is accurate...but...that is what they said.

and not sure if one slice is one serving or two.....

it was delicious....either way.

When in doubt....add butter!

Unless they've changed the recipe, this is the ingredient list:

INGREDIENTS: Cream Cheese (Pasteurized Milk and Cream, Cream Culture, Salt, Xanthan and/or Carob Bean and/or Guar Gums), Eggs, Erythritol, Walnuts, Polydextrose, Low Carb Crumb (Polydextrose, Cornstarch, Palm Oil, Eggs, Soy Protein Concentrate, Enriched Wheat Flour, Vital Wheat Gluten, Maltitol, Natural Flavor, Baking Powder [Baking Soda, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Cornstarch], Salt, Sucralose), Sour Cream (Cultured Cream, Nonfat Milk, Vegetable Enzyme), Butter, Splenda (sucralose), Vanillin (Artificial Flavor), Vegetable Gum

I think they changed the recipe sometime in 2008 because I went in one night to get a slice and they told me they didn't have it while they were reworking the recipe. I went in again around September, and it was back on the menu.

If you just get the cheesecake (i.e., no sugar free whip cream, no strawberries), I thought it was supposed to be 6g of carbs per serving. "abnormalslc" brings up a good point though about how many servings is in one of their slices? You would think it would count as one serving, but you never know if they are being sneaky.

Either way, the cheesecake is most tasty! It is a little pricey at around $7.00/slice, which is why I don't go by there very often.

WAY too expensive to get this cheesecake when you can make an entire pie on your own at home for about the same price.

Using that logic, though, nobody would go out to eat ever.
