Just to let you know, I keep getting this popup:

Stack overflow at line: 1822

whenever I hit the back button to return out of a page in the forum.

Regards!

Linda,

Do you know if there's an easy way to switch from IE to Firefox without costing an arm and a leg OR is it a program that is included in your computer when you purchase it? thanks!

IE has a new updated browser and if you want to update to it you have to install windows 7 and dump XP. Firefox is a free download. My uncle was having an issue with his computer over Thanksgiving and I moved him from IE to Firefox within minutes and all the issues he was having stopped.

here is the link for firefox http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ it will walk you through step by step on how to transfer IE's favorites into Firefox Bookmarks. Hope that helps!

I've been using Firefox for years and won't use IE for anything anymore.

While I'm somewhat skeptical of Google Inc. for reasons I will not go into, I reluctantly tried their Chrome browser, and in spite of myself, was moderately impressed.

Worth a try for anyone having problems with other browsers.

Thanks Amethyst ... I pay my phone company for monthy computer tech help. Maybe I'll just let them do all the work, LOL.

I'm still looking in to this, but I highly recommend either Chrome or Firefox as free, easy-to-use and superior browsers. For the technically advanced, you may wish to check out Opera, also free. All three run laps around IE and DON'T have this bug.

OK, Here's the official word. This bug is in IE 7 and 8. Microsoft has fixed the bug in IE9. Updating IE or switching to a superior browser WILL fix the problem.

The problem IE 7&8 are having (I'm told) is specifically with the MyBB WYSIWYG editor used to enter and edit posts. If enough people cannot upgrade and are willing to go back to the old-fashioned interface, that can happen, but it will affect EVERYONE.

Although the error message is annoying, it doesn't stop anyone from posting or using the forum. I wouldn't mind going back to the old version of the forum though. The WYSIWYG editor is driving me nuts. I keep forgetting to switch to Source and end up with double tags. It also reverts to Editor every time I preview a post. I wouldn't mind it so much if there was an option to set one or the other as my default like some of the other forum features.

I hadn't been keeping up to date with the forum changes, and hadn't realised that what I was looking at was a WYSIWYG editor, but was wondering how to intersperse replies with parts of a previous posting.

Now you've mentioned switching to "source", all is now clear, so thanks!
So long as there is still a way to compose postings the old-fashioned way, I'm happy!

OK, I have reverted the editor to the old style. Let's see how this works for everyone!

Thanks Kevin ... EVERYTHING seems to be back to normal and working fine again! NO messages any longer and faster again on the speed too.
