since yesterday, i am seeing that if you make a reply and post it..then make another reply (even to a different person), it gets automatically attached to your previous post. is this a new format or a glitch?

i hope it is a glitch that can be fixed, because it's making for some very long reply posts, especially if you include quotes!
Hey, Rene...

I reported the same problem yesterday to Jimmy. He said he would report it to Administration... hopefully, it will be corrected soon. Thanks!! Wink
THANKS Moofie and Kathy! I have informed the admin and he will get to it soon. THANK YOU!

I don't see the problem? Unless you're referring to the nested quotes in the previous post here.

If so ... that's normal behavior. The idea is you're keeping the flow going. If you want less of the old stuff ... you simply highlight it and hit delete when you're replying.
Replying to my own post as a test
rene, would you post the link to one of your posts that did this?
OK, I found one:

http://www.livinlowcarbdiscussion.com/sh...1#pid39661

I see what she means. Instead of her second reply showing up in a new post, it was combined with her previous post and a horzontal rule was placed in between them.

another reply test
Well, it doesn't seem to be happening to my posts.

I agree with Linda... that's what happened to me also. It's a problem when you are trying to just make a comment to everyone and not just one person. It did not do this before with our old program.
I'm testing again to see if it happens or not....
And the problem still exists....
Dear Richard Gere,

I'm writing you this post because you're the sexiest man alive on our planet.... but you probably won't get this because it will go straight to Linda instead, LOL.
Big Grin
Looks like Linda rec'd my post that was intended for Richard Gere!!
Wow!!!... I just discovered a new problem too.... go to my Personal Journal and look at post #1361. It combined two separate responses on one post. That is a new problem too... if the other person tries to reply to my last response, there's too much extra garbage on it!! Thanks!
I found something else interesting....

It does NOT combine with the previous post if it is on a different day.
Kathy and Rene, what exactly are you doing when this odd thing happens? I can't seem to make it happen no matter what I try. Tell me exactly what button you're clicking to start the post and anything else that you can think of. I'm puzzled.
Lindasue,

Do you think maybe it's not happening to you because you are a Moderator.... and maybe things are setup differently for you?
Ok, this one is where I went to QUICK REPLY, wrote this and hit POST REPLY
OK, this one is where I went to NEW REPLY, typed this message and hit POST REPLY

NOW.... this one is where I went to REPLY, typed this and hit POST REPLY
So... to make a long story short, if I was the last poster and the next poster... all things are combined no matter what (except if it's a different day-- they do not combine).

OK, now I wanted to respond to Georgia tech... so, I hit REPLY on his post .... typed the message... and hit POST REPLY Big Grin
If you went step by step from top to bottom, you can now see that it combined two separate people's posts together now.... uggh! (this one was quick reply then post reply).
ALL I KNOW IS... THIS WAS NOT DOING THIS WITH THE OLD PROGRAM. And, if you wanted to respond to one of the lines here, it would be a lot of stuff to dig through in order to do that. THANKS FOR YOU HELP!!Wink
Are you using the quick reply at the bottom of the page?

The New Reply button?

The "Quote Reply" below somebody's post?

The "Multiple Quote Reply" below multiple people's post?
I don't see a "Quick Reply" button on my screen. Just the usual "New Reply" button at the top and bottom of the page and the option for quoting a reply below each message.

It's the BIG WHITE BOX at bottom of page.....Smile Maybe you don't have it??

I tried all of those except the multiple quote reply. If you go to POST #16 .... you can see the examples. thanks!
Once again, it combined my posts to two different people in one clump... which did not happen with the old program.
No big white button on the bottom of my page but I see moderator options that you don't see so maybe they're taking up the space where that button would normally be.
I'm just not going to let it bother me anymore... thanks!!
this is a test -- I am having a problem posting.

It looks like it worked. What kind of problem were you having?
My post are doing that too. When I posted a thank you in my journal then added a menu for today it just made one post instead of two. At first i thought I had made a mistake so I edited the thank you and reposted the menu post....it just added another line to my first post and put the menu post on the 1st one........ ????
Just checking to see if it is doing it here....
YES it is....this should be the 3rd post
