Has anyone tried either of the two new coffee flavored Advantage bars? The come in Caramel Crème Coffee and Mocha Crisp. Netrition only sells the Mocha Crisp flavor and they're outrageously expensive for the 12-packs at the Atkins site at $24.99. However, the price is pretty good at Amazon for the 12-packs at $16.00 and free shipping. I haven't seen them in any stores locally.
I'm tempted to try them but $32 is a big chunk of money for something that I've never tried before and don't know if I'll like. I just wondered if anyone else has tried them and what they think of them. Neither flavor contains sugar alcohols but they do have all the usual Advantage bar ingredients such as soy, polydextrose and glycerin, etc.

I saw them at Carbsmart and in singles too. Next order I will give them a try.
Yay - no sugar alcohols!
I'm going to check locally. If I try it, I will let you know what I think.

I don't like coffee, so I'll be taking a pass on these.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker either but I love the flavor of coffee in desserts.
I may try it, but I've never even liked that flavor in desserts.
I don't like the Atkins processed products, and have never been impressed with the ones I tried. They're thrown far too many people off-plan, and are used as a replacement for healthier choices.
I totally understand emergency use, but Atkins Corp hopes they become a staple because they want your money and couldn't care less what the ingredients do to you. A lot of people at Charles' forum state that Atkins didn't work for them because of processed Atkins foods, because they (appeared to, as many many many people do) equate the processed foods with Atkins, and not with whole foods and healthy choices.
It ticks me off that Atkins seems to care more about the money than people's health and successes.

I agree with you completely, cleochatra. I don't normally buy those kinds of things but sometimes it's nice to have something that I can stick in my purse or take on a trip. At least the Atkins brand is better than all the other low carb bars that are loaded with sugar alcohols. They generally keep them down to about 3 grams or less when they do use them. Most other brands have 15-20 grams in their bars. It's best to stick with real food but sometimes it's not so bad to have something convenient like this.
am I clueless? When I see Atkins at Trader joes, the bars have like 15 -20 grams. Same with the ones I see at Walgreens...I often wonder where (I don't order on-line now b/c too expensive to buy--I would just get one) I could find a bar that is low carb. I saw the EAS bar today, which I've heard people mention (protein powder) and that had a zillion carbs too. Where are you guys finding these bars with 3+ grams. Even a little more would be okay for me, but not 20. Please let me know if you know...

I agree with you. I just don't like the advantage bars much at all. My "favorite" (more like "least disliked") is one of the peanut butter one. I can get them down with a cup of coffee if I have to, but they are not something I enjoy.
I like Atkins products...and eat too many of them I am sure...but to Coffee flavor...Blech....just say no.
I'll side with Jimmy on these and pass.
Not everyone is affected by the fake sugar/sugar alcohols in the Atkins bars. I admit I enjoy fake sugar. It is because of fake sugar that I don't feel as if I'm even on a diet. I can eat one of the Endulge Atkins bars every day and still lose weight. Furthermore, my low carb-family: father, mother and husband don't gain weight from eating the Endulge Atkins bars everyday either. The only time my weight loss stalls for more than a month, is if I cheat and have one piece of pizza at a social event or a small piece of cake. I usually have an extreme sweet tooth from having seen people eat pizza and/or cake. I'll come home and binge. I'll eat low-carb ice cream and two Endulge Atkins bars. Binging on fake sugar doesn't seem to cause weight gain, or slow weight loss in anyway, but if I'd had the slice of pizza and came home and had only eaten meat for the rest of the day, my weight loss for the month is lost.
My mother, husband, and I can only eat the Endulge bars because the other bars contain soy protein. Soy lechtin and soy oil doesn't mess with our systems, but soy protein is horrible on our tummies. My father because he can eat soy protein favors the South Beach meal replacement bars. The South Beach meal replacement bars tend to be cheaper. I can't remember the carb amount after my Dad subtracted the sugar alcohols, but it was comparable to the Endulge Atkins bar.
The Mocha bars are good. I picked up a box a couple of weeks ago on sale.
Atkins bars saved my butt more than once. During our busy seasons, I may only have time to cook once or twice a week and I can be called out of the office at any time and not return for several hours. I keep a couple of bars in my purse so I will always have something to eat no matter where I am.
I tried the caramel creme and it was yummo! I will buy these again. It was chewy, sort of reminded me of a hundred grand bar.

I tried the mocha crisp Atkins bar. Using the Atkins products occasionally (really not more than once a day) does not affect my weight loss. I have lost 3 lbs. in 7 days so far-just back on low carbing.
What did you think of it, steflou?
Christine likes the new peanut butter cup flavor.

Is that an Advantage bar or a candy bar?
They sent a sample about six months ago. It's a candy bar like Reese's pb cups. Haven't seen it in stores yet.

They've had those for many years. They were one of the first Endulge candies that they came out with and one of the first kinds of sugar free chocolate that I tried.
